Verizon is in the process of working on an IPTV service that will bring its popular FiOS brand to the web, Technologizer has reported. According to an insider source, the company is looking well beyond PCs and is also targeting the gaming console segment in this regard.
There is no information as yet on when the proposed service would launch. But according to the source, the company is working with a sense of urgency considering that they are “late to the game“.
The IPTV segment is seeing a lot of activity of late. Recently, Google announced its foray into the segment with the launch of IPTV. It will be interesting to see how competition builds up moving forward.
