We had written about the MSI FX600 notebook sometime back. Did you like it? If you did, here is something interesting. The notebook is now also available on an AMD Phenom II processor. And it will now be called the MSI FX610. If you are not aware of the specs, here’s a quick rundown.
The MSI FX610 will feature a 15.6″ TFT LCD display with LED backlight. The notebook comes equipped with a 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5470 GPU along with the AMD processor. You will remember that the FX600 had an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card instead. Other features include a 4GB DDR3 memory, a 500GB storage space, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & HDMI and a built-in 720p webcam.
Now there is no confirmation on the pricing, but expect it to hover around the $900 mark like the FX600.
MSI is out with yet another notebook from its FX series. The new MSI FX400 looks to be a more compact version of the MSI FX600 that we had reviewed last month. Unlike the large 15.6-inches display on the FX600, the FX400 notebook comes with a 14-inch LCD display screen that runs on an Intel Core i5 processor. Multimedia consumers are one of the key target segments for this new device and it is no surprise that this new notebook will come with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M graphics card.
Other features on the MSI FX400 include a Turbo Drive engine, a 500GB storage space, HDMI connectivity, Bluetooth support, etc. We are yet to hear the official price of this device, but considering that the larger FX600 is priced at $899, expect this one to come much less than that.
MSI is showcasing its new WindPad U100 tablet PC at the IFA 2010 event next month. Ahead of the event, the company has released a few tidbits of information about this beautiful tablet device. MSI WindPad U100 features a 10.1-inches touchscreen display and runs on an Intel Atom Z530 processor. The computer is deployed with a RAM of 2GB capacity and contains a storage capacity of 32GB.
The MSI WindPad will run on Windows 7 – and you do know how good the processor is compared to iOS – and will also feature a docking station that is incorporated with two USB 2.0 ports, audio input/output, ethernet port as well as connectivity options for VGA and HDMI output.
Now since the unveiling is set to happen next month, the actual launch is expected to happen much later. But if this device appeals to your requirements and you are willing to pay close to $499 for this, stay tuned for more info about this product.
MSI is launching its new Wind Top AE2280 all-in-one desktop computer that brings interesting Hollywood-standard THX TruStudio Pro audio features to a home computer.
The specs are really impressive – 21.5-inch touchscreen LCD display that packs 1920×1080 pixels, a 4GB DDR3 RAM, a SATA2 hard drive with 640GB capacity, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD5430 GPU backed by up to 1GB of DDR3 VRAM and an Intel Core i3/i5 processor. Other features include a DVD Super Multi Optical drive, a 1.3-megapixel camera, ports for VGA, USB, HDMI and SPDIF connectivity. Apart from all this, there are obviously two 5W 5.1-channel surround speakers with THX TRUSTUDIO PRO support.
The desktop runs on a 64-bit edition of Windows 7 Home Premium OS and also comes with a wireless keyboard & mouse and a 6-in-1 memory card reader.
Considering all this impressive lineup of specs, including the touchscreen functionalities, you may find the $949.99 price-point pretty reasonable. Are you game?
MSI has launched two new “slim and stylish” notebooks. The MSI P600 and MSI S6000 are not very different from each other though there is one major difference in weight and battery power. The MSI P600 is powered by an 8-cell battery and weighs 5.3 pounds. On the other hand, the MSI S6000 weighs 5 pounds and comes with a 4-cell battery backup. Personally, I think the P600 scores here between the two. Other specifications of the MSI S6000 is pretty similar to the the P600.
Primarily, the MSI P600 comes with a 15.6-inches 1366×768 pixel resolution HD display and is powered by Intel’s new Core i5 450M processor. The impressive line-up of tech specs on the new notebook include a 4GB DDR3 memory, 500GB storage drive, 1.3 megapixel webcam, Intel GMA HD graphics and dual speakers. Connectivity features like USB 2.0 ports, eSATA/USB combo ports, HDMI are also available. The MSI P600 also supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and comes equipped with a 3-in-1 card reader.
Finally the price – the MSI P600 is priced at $729.99 and is available on the stores right now. The S6000 is priced marginally higher at $799.99 and will be arriving soon.
MSI has outed their latest gaming laptop – the MSI GT660R in the United States. The device is pretty intense when it comes to its specs for gamers and though the price may be slightly above your comfort level, I would just believe it is worth the experience on offer.
Talking about the specifications, the device features a 16-inches screen that renders content at a good 1366×768 resolution. The machine is powered by a 1.73GHz Intel Core i7-740QM processor that is enhanced by the GeForce GTX285M 1GB graphics card from NVIDIA. If you are not impressed about the device as yet, you really should be if you think about the 6GB DDR3 RAM and a huge 1TB hard drive space that includes a Blu-Ray combo drive.
Other standard features include support for 802.11n Wi-Fi, LAN, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, VGA and HDMI outputs. The device is equipped with a webcam that renders 720p video output and a 9-cell battery that – sadly though – offers only 3 hours of power backup.
If you are interested, get ready to shell out $1,699. The device is already launched in the US.
If you are looking for a standard netbook that will give you better “mileage” on power consumption, this is one MSI device to go for. We have just got wind of the technical specifications and price of MSI’s upcoming netbook PC – the MSI U230 Light-087US.
As expected, the device will feature a 11.6-inches widescreen display screen that will run on AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor. With a decent 2GB memory and a 250GB hard drive storage, expect the device to effectively compete against rival netbooks. The MSI U230 netbook is a Windows 7 Home Premium device that will come with connectivity options like Wi-Fi and LAN. Users can also enjoy an HDMI output for high definition video viewing.
The strengths of this device is definitely in the ultra-portability design. The MSI U230 is pretty light-weight and according to the manufacturers consumes 60% less power than standard netbooks. If that sounds impressive, so does the price. You can get one for yourself at $399.
MSI has removed the wraps off its latest laptop that is sure to get a few gamers out in the wild interested. Let me tell you at the forefront that I still do not have any information on the pricing and launch date of the new notebook. But the technical specifications are out and it sure sounds interesting.
First thing, the notebook comes with a 15.6-inches display screen and a powerful Intel Core i5 processor. With a 4GB DDR3 RAM on-board, expect some fluent performance. Other tech specs on the new MSI notebook include a 500GB hard drive, HD webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium and four internal speakers. The notebook offers all the standard connectivity options including Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and Gigabit ethernet.
An interesting aspect about the MSI FX600 notebook is its support for gaming content. The notebook is supported by NVIDIA’s 1GB GeForce GT325M graphics chip and NVIDIA Optimus that helps in graphics switching and battery efficiency. Add to this, the THX surround sound and you can expect a high definition gaming experience on the cards.

MSI has removed the wraps on its latest Wind U160DX netbook. This is an ultra-thin portable that comes packed with some really interesting technical specifications. First and foremost, the MSI Wind U160DX is incorporated with Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz processor that is driven by MSI’s Turbo Drive Engine technology.
The Wind U160DX contains a 10.1-inches LED display at 1024×600 resolution, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 160GB+ hard drive storage, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth support, a 1.3-Megapixel camera and a 3/6 cell battery input.
The exterior of the MSI Wind netbook is less than 1-inch thick and the device itself weighs just 1 Kg. It is an ideal device for your on-the-move needs. Also, with a battery life of close to 15 hours, expect some really good long lasting work sessions while you are traveling. However, MSI runs on a Windows 7 Starter platform which may not be compatible for everyone. A Windows 7 Home Premium would have been ideal.
We are still to hear from MSI about the price and launch date. But they are being announced soon. Sit tight.
