The new ProBook 4425s notebook from Hewlett Packard is now out on sale. This is the first HP laptop to feature an AMD quad-core processor in its feature list and is targeted mainly at the business folks.

Dell has just announced the launch of its first laptop running on AMD’s Nile line of processors. It is at present only posted on the Singaporean website and is expected to become available elsewhere shortly.

Lenovo will be launching a number of U series Ideapad laptops in June that will bring with them improved keyboards, light sensors and faster processors. Also, like the older crop of U series Ideapad laptops, the new models including U160 and U360 are less than an inch thick and do not weigh more than 3.8 pounds.

There are several rumors to suggest that Sony may be offering a fresh set of updates to its Vaio P series laptops. The new 8 inch laptop will include several fresh aesthetic design changes other than a set of new features.

The lowest price of the new Sony Vaio P series laptop will be $799 though this will contain the 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor and not Z560
In a bid to bolster its revenues, Acer has a few plans up its sleeves for May. The company has revealed that it shall be unveiling a launching a fresh suite of mobile internet devices (MID) aimed at the mobile customer.
According to Acer CEO and President, Gianfranco Lanci, the new suite of products will employ version 4.0 of the Shell user interface besides incorporating 3G wireless connectivity.
Netbooks and laptops account for close to 69% of the company’s revenues and the new suite of products will help the company retain its leadership in the netbook segment where Acer is currently the market leader.
