HTC Legend owners should soon get their dose of Android 2.2. HTC has confirmed this on the company’s Facebook page. While an exact date is still not revealed, HTC notes that the roll out will first happen with unbranded handsets while carrier-branded variants will take a little longer. On the Facebook page, a HTC representative has written,
“We have been working hard to find the most accurate information about how the update is progressing, and when it will be ready for all of you – thankfully, you won’t have to wait much longer! Below you’ll find all the information we can share right now.
The update has been progressing quite well, and in the coming weeks those with unbranded Legends should be receiving the update.”
The problem with carrier branded variants is apparently an approval that HTC must obtain from the carriers themselves before the roll-out can happen. That is expected to cause the extra delay. Nevertheless, if you own a Legend, you at least now know that you are not forgotten.
