T-Mobile’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom is learned to be in early stage talks with New York based hedge fund, Harbinger Capital partners to procure LTE network starting next year.
Harbinger Capital already owns radio spectrum and is expected to roll out an LTE network. However, the company shall not be directly reaching out to customers, but instead is planning on sourcing the bandwidth to carriers instead.
T-Mobile has already made its intentions known about rolling out an LTE network by next year. However, with a smaller subscriber base, the company’s plans could be much more of an uphill task compared to rivals Verizon and AT&T. Under such circumstances, a partnership as this makes a lot of sense.
