Seagate is on to some really impressive launches of late. Last month, the company announced the launch of a 3 Terabyte external hard drive storage solution that breached the existing limits of external hard drive storage systems.
Now, the company has announced a new home storage solution that will enable families to access content from one centralized hard drive storage system. The new FreeAgent GoFlex Home Storage system will come with a storage capacity of close to 1TB or 2TB of data. This can be hitched on to a wireless router (doesn’t come with the package) via an ethernet port that can later be wirelessly accessed from multiple devices at home.
The solution is not just aimed at PC and Mac users. The wireless hard drive is expected to work with any of the networked DNLA device. This includes the popular gaming consoles and also includes Seagate’s native GoFlex HD media player.
Finally, the price – The 1TB solution costs $159.99 while the larger 2TB storage system is priced at $229.99
