Samsung has announced the launch of a new SE-S084D external DVD writer that the company says is targeted at the netbook market. The SE-S084D DVD burner is extremely slim and truly built for users who are on the move. The design is learned to have won Samsung the iF Product Design Award.
The new sleek DVD writer is close to 20% smaller and 25% lighter than conventional DVD writers. The optical drive is available in seven colors and is compatible with both the Mac and PC.
Samsung notes that the SE-S084D writer is equipped with Buffer Under Run technology which will prevent write errors caused by write speeds faster than data transfer speeds. The writer can burn CD-RW at 24X and DVD-RW at 6x.
This new Samsung external DVD writer is available worldwide and is tagged at a price of $69.99
