Looking for that one device that will let you control all the devices in your home? Universal remote controllers have traditionally cost over $100. But if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, the $10 iPhone app named ‘My TV‘ may help.

The MY TV application is available for free from the Apple App Store. Once done, users may pay $9.99 via the in-app purchase gateway to get an IR dongle shipped to their homes. Plug the dongle to your iPhone and you are done.

The app improves the user experience with the remote. Unlike traditional universal remotes, the device does not come with one set of buttons for all activities. Instead, users may thumb down the television guide to check out the shows on the various channels, view ratings, description, etc. Additionally, the app is also integrated with social networking features which means that users may share what they are watching with friends on Facebook.

The app currently supports only TV. But hold on since support for DVD, Blu-Ray, audio is coming soon. Gaming console support that require bluetooth may not be supported though.
