In December last year, Google ended its long-time partnership with Answers.com to create its own Dictionary page. Consequently, users who searched for words or phrases were shown a ‘Definition’ link that took them to a Google definition page instead of Answers.com
More recently though, the company redesigned the search page layout that saw the definition link completely removed from the search page results pages. If you have been using Google for querying word definitions, this caused a lot of hard time since users had to now manually key-in Google.com/dictionary to look up words.
No longer. Google has now introduced a new OneBox that will present word definitions in a much more elegant format. The feature is being rolled out to users over the past week and now brings the word definitions to the center page instead of being tucked away on the right hand corner of the page.
