Love it or hate it, the iPad is here to stay and the number of visitors to your websites from this new platform is only going to increase moving towards the future. Though a lot of iPad users access websites and blogs via the native Mobile Safari browser, it makes sense for publishers to make their websites a lot more iPad-friendly by incorporating the native look and feel of the tablet device. For instance, iPad users are intuitively tuned in to swipe to advance, see content aligned according to the way the iPad is held in landscape or portrait mode, etc.

Now if you are looking to incorporate these features to your website or blog, PadPressed is something you must look out for. Considering that a vast majority of blogs today are built over the WordPress platform, PadPressed is presently available as a plugin that will offer these iPad-friendly features to your blog when accessed from an iPad. However, the developer, Jason Baptiste, has insisted that a similar functionality shall be made available soon for other platforms like Movable Type, Typepad, Tumblr, etc. as well.

The plugin is not cheap though. It comes at a one-time fee of $49.95 that also includes all future upgrades. There are apparently a few minor kinks in the way the plugin functions, but those issues should be sorted out soon. If you are interested, check out PadPressed website to purchase the plugin.

You may remember Sherif Hashim as the guy who brought the iOS 4 baseband unlocking for iPhone users. Now Hashim is back with yet another trick that will allow users to activate their iPhone 3G/3GS or even iPhone 4 without having to actually use your original SIM card.

This six minute video embedded below will take you through the entire process. Please note that if you are trying this on your iPhone 4, you will still require to trim your original SIM card to the micro-SIM size in order to complete the process.

Hasim writes,

“instead of telling everyone who hasn’t got the original sim that activation of the iphone is easy using a phonebook sim card, i made this video to show u all how it works , Use any phonebook sim card, they are there in radioshak, mobile phone shops or any mobile tech moles , any phone book simcard will do the trick, no need for programmable sims, all those phonebook sims used to save ur contacts and transfer them have a universal ICCIDs preprogrammed so they all work”

The iPad can be a great device for you to play games – not just the casual games that you find on the App Store but also more serious Super Nintendo games. Here is a four step process as detailed by LifeHacker for you to install and play SNES emulator on your iPad.

Do remember that this process will require you to jailbreak your iPad. Jailbreaking can void your warranty besides causing several performance related issues. So, don’t blame me later ;)

Step 1 : Jailbreak. You can use the untethered jailbreaking solution offered by Spirit. Click here to download the appropriate software for your Mac, PC or Linux systems.

Step 2 : Install Snes4iPhone. This is an SNES Emulator application that can be purchased from the Cydia store at a price of $6. Visit Cydia Store : Products and look out for Snes4iPhone. Once purchased, the app will install on your iPad.

Step 3 : Load Games. For this process, you will need to SSH into your iPad and copy the ROMs from /var/mobile/media/ROMs/. Alternatively, you can also browse for ROMs from the internet and download them into your iPad. For this, visit the Snes4iPhone Browse section and click on ‘Search’ on the upper righthand of the screen.

Step 4 : Sync the Wiimote. To do this, launch the Snes4iPhone app and visit the options section. Here, turn the Wiimote support on. This will send Snes4iPhone searching for your Wiimote. Meanwhile, hold the 1 and 2 buttons on your Wiimote down so that it is recognized.

You are done. Get playing.
