BlackBerry 9800 Torch Slider UK Launch On Vodafone?

This one’s listed under the rumors section (yes, there’s one on Go”Rumors”). Research In Motion’s new Blackberry 9800 Slider phone could be making its debut in the UK market by the September or October of this year. And the carrier, as you read in the title, could be Vodafone. Though the device is a GSM/CDMA device, the handset is expected to primarily be available only on GSM.

Look deeper and the rumor sounds all the more spicier. Vodafone UK also owns the Verizon Wireless network in the US. A possible launch of Blackberry 9800 Torch Slider on Vodafone in UK could then also possibly hint at a Verizon launch in the US. Now, Verizon is a CDMA network but that should not be much of a worry for this handset.

We still have a month or so before the rumors are confirmed. No word on the price as yet. But expect the tariffs at least to be very similar to the other Blackberry devices out in the market.
