Eighteen years after Autodesk, the developers of the popular AutoCAD software moved away from the Mac platform, the company has announced that they are making a reentry with the launch of the latest version of AutoCAD on the Mac platform. AutoCAD, as you know is the most popular 3D visualization software used by engineers and mechanical designers for the Windows platform.
According to early reviews, the Mac interface for AutoCAD is nearly the same as the one available for Windows and so any transition from the Windows to Mac platforms should be a non-issue. The software is not cheap though – as expected. Apart from students and educators looking for personal use, the AutoCAD software for Mac is priced at a high $3975. Of course, this is the norm for software packages designed for enterprise use.
