Good news for all AT&T users of Samsung Captivate. The android run smartphone from Samsung is apparently going to get a boost up from its current Android 2.1 version to a Android 2.2 version codenamed Froyo. With most of the other Android products in the market including Samsung’s own Galaxy S featuring newer versions of Android like Gingerbread, this firmware update can bring some joy to Captivate users. Users of Captivate can browse through the instructions available on the phone to locate the firmware update. More support has also been offered on Samsung’s website as well.
If you browse through the Settings page and then click on About Phone, you would observe that the phone has already been upgraded to 2.2 or Froyo after finishing installing the update. The Samsung Captivate comes with an impressive four inch AMOLED touchscreen, a 5.0 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities.
