Gateway has announced the launch of its NV series notebooks in Canada. As you may be aware, all the NV series notebooks from Gateway come with a 15.6-inches display. The latest, Gateway NV5 also comes with a few other important specs that make it pretty worth the penny you may be shelling out.

The Gateway NV5 is primarily targeted at the students and others looking at affordable, value-for-money notebook PCs. The device comes with processors from AMD though more details regarding the CPU is not available at the moment. Other hardware specifications include a 4GB DDR3 RAM that is expandable up to 8GB, storage capacity of up to 500GB and a display clarity enhanced by the 1366×768 pixel resolution. Connectivity features on the NV5 include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Gigabit ethernet LAN connectivity. The high definition webcam can offer a video resolution of 1280×1024 pixels.

The device was expected to go on sale at a starting price of $1199. But surprise, the notebook is now priced $200 higher.

If you do not remember the technical specifications, here is a short roundup. The notebook runs on an Intel Core processor and is ably supported by an ATI RADEON HD5730 graphics card. Other features on the device include a 1.3-Megapixel camera and support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LAN. Storage space starts at 250GB and extends all the way up to 750GB.

Let me tell you at the forefront that I still do not have any information on the pricing and launch date of the new notebook. But the technical specifications are out and it sure sounds interesting.

First thing, the notebook comes with a 15.6-inches display screen and a powerful Intel Core i5 processor. With a 4GB DDR3 RAM on-board, expect some fluent performance. Other tech specs on the new MSI notebook include a 500GB hard drive, HD webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium and four internal speakers. The notebook offers all the standard connectivity options including Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and Gigabit ethernet.

An interesting aspect about the MSI FX600 notebook is its support for gaming content. The notebook is supported by NVIDIA’s 1GB GeForce GT325M graphics chip and NVIDIA Optimus that helps in graphics switching and battery efficiency. Add to this, the THX surround sound and you can expect a high definition gaming experience on the cards.

Asus Bamboo Notebook – Price In UK Announced

Remember those bamboo notebooks that we had written about not so long ago? Asus has announced that these bamboo notebooks are now available for purchase in the UK market. There are two models to choose from – Asus U33Jc and Asus U53Jc. Both the devices are identical with prominent features being 2.26GHz Intel Core i5-430M processor, LED backlit display with 1366×768 resolution, NVIDIA GEForce 310M graphics card with Optimus technology, a 4GB DDR3 RAM and a USB 3.0 port. Both run on the Microsoft Windows 7 platform.

The Asus U53Jc notebook has a few additional specs – most notably, a bonus DVD burner. This notebook has a 15-inch display while the other Asus U33Jc comes with a 13-inch display.

So here is what you will be paying if you are in the UK. The Asus U33Jc notebook will cost £849 ($1,292) while the Asus U53Jc will cost £899 ($1,368).

Asus UL20FT Notebook Price and Launch Date Finally Revealed

We first wrote about the new Asus UL20FT notebook PC back in May this year. The device comes with some pretty interesting technical specifications like 12.1-inches 1366×768 display, 1.02GHz Intel Celeron processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB hard drive storage and a 6-cell battery that would offer a comfortable battery life of 8 hours.

Now, there are reports that suggest that the notebook may be on sale in just a few more weeks from now. However, there is a minor difference in the tech specs. While the Japanese version of Asus UL20FT will continue to carry the Intel Celeron processor, folks outside – especially USA, may enjoy a faster Intel Core i3-330UM processor.

The Asus UL20FT is expected to go on sale starting August 6th and is expected to be priced at $579 in the American market. Ready to buy this Asus device? You only have to wait a couple of weeks more.

LG XNote R590 3D Notebook Tech Specs And Launch Date Review

This is yet another 3D-capable notebook that will get a lot of gamers interested. LG has introduced its first 3D notebook that will come with a 3D Gaming monitor and 3D projector. The LG XNote R590 notebook will carry the following specifications.

The first thing to note is the large 15.6-inches display on the 3D notebook. The device is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor that is supported by NVIDIA’s GeForce GT335M graphics card for some high quality gaming action. Another peripheral that gamers would love is the high-definition Tru-Surround sound provided by SRS. Users may also pick up the optional Blu-ray drive.

The LG XNote R590 3D notebook is installed with the TriDef software. This application is responsible for converting 2D videos to 3D in a real-time environment. The computer shall also come with polarized 3D glasses. This is unlike the active shutter glasses used on many other models that could cause eye fatigue and also increase the device weight.

The new LG R590 notebook is already out on sale in the Korean market and is expected to become available worldwide very shortly. Hold on for an announcement on price.

Gateway has announced the launch of a new generation of NS series of notebooks that will sport the Intel Core-i series of processors. There are four Gateway NS notebooks released – Gateway NS10, NS30, NS41 and NS51. Of these, the Gateway NS10 shall be the smallest.

Talking of tech specs, the Gateway NS10 will come with a 11.6-inches display that will render text and images at 1,366 x 768 resolution. The device has some pretty standard, yet impressive specifications including a 4GB DDR3 RAM, 160GB to 640GB of hard disk storage space and connectivity with Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n networks.

Users also get to pick between two different battery configuration. If you are a short duration users, go for the 3-cell battery notebook. Or else, you may always choose the alternative 6-cell Lithium Ion battery notebook. You may also pick between Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional for Operating system.

Asus Bamboo NotebookBest Buy is opening up to pre-orders on the much awaited Asus Bamboo notebooks. There are two models to pick from – The Asus U43F and Asus U43FJC. Both the notebooks come with a 14-inches display screen and other specifications like a 2.26GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM and 640GB hard drive on the U43F. Also, both the devices come with facial recognition.

The Asus U43F is priced at $950 while the other Bamboo notebook from Asus is available at $1000. So what’s different? Asus U43FJC includes NVIDIA’s GeForce 310M graphics chipset with Optimus graphics switching that also helps to improve the battery performance.

Both the Asus bamboo notebooks are expected to have a battery life close to 5 hours and 10 minutes. Pre-orders are open and launch is expected to happen by end of this month.
