Transparent Bumper Cases For iPhone 4
No doubt Apple is offering free bumper cases to users to protect their iPhone 4 handsets from the antenna signal reception issues. However, if you are one of those who find these cases spoiling the original look of the iPhone, here is a translucent casing from Belkin that can come of use. The Belkin Shield Micra comes in two other subtle colors as well – Royal purple and Black Pearl. The casing comes with appropriate openings in order to make way for the volume, silent-mode and the iPhone’s camera lens. The shield cases are now available for purchase from the Belkin website at a price of $19.99 for one unit or $24.99 for a couple.

USB Solar Charger For Mobile Phone – Review
A few days back, I had written about the new Monaco Solar Charger that is a great accessory for those of you are keen on using eco-friendly products. Today, I have an opportunity to fiddle with the product and offer my view of the solar charger.
First of all, here is some background on the product. The Monaco Solar Powered battery charger comes with a light-weight solar cell. At 93.5 grams, this is pretty portable and offers a capacity of 1800mAh. The charger has two ports – an input port and an output port. The solar cell comes with a large face that may be kept facing the sun in order to power the solar battery. My room receives a lot of sunlight in the morning and I found the solar cell to be quite sufficiently receptive.

The cell is illuminated with a red light whenever it is in charging mode, so you know if there is sufficient sunlight around or not. Charging solely via solar power can take quite some time and so if you are also looking for a power line to complement, you can always use the regular adapter that comes in the box.
The Monaco Solar Powered battery charger is compatible with several brands of mobile phones. Though the manufacturers – WirelessGround – have only mentioned Apple, Blackberry, LG, Motorola, HTC, Nokia, Palm, Samsung handsets to be compatible, I guess the Monaco solar powered battery charger can be used with any handset that comes equipped with a USB-based dock connector.
The mobile phone solar charger is available at a regular price of $79.95 though it is now tagged at $39.95 on the WirelessGround website. You can check out the specs and purchase details on their website by clicking here.
Here are a few pictures and demonstration video of Monaco mobile phone solar charger

So you went ahead and purchased a brand new iPhone 4 and then realized that you also need another device to make calls. Of course, you can always transfer your SIM to another phone when you have to make that all-important call. But it is tricky. The Apple iPhone 4 uses microSIM which is not compatible on most of the other mobile phones in the market.

The MicroSIM adapter for iPhone users is now available at the MicroSIM shop at a price of $7.50. Go grab it if you need to make that call.
Vapor4 Aluminium Bumpers For iPhone
The iPhone 4 has received a lot of press of late. Of course, every Apple device does. But surprise, this time a majority of them have been negative and critical of both the actual issues and Apple’s condescending responses to affected customers.
So what do you do? Returning your iPhone is one option. Buying a bumper that will protect your device is another. ElementCase has just released their latest aluminium bumper for the iPhone. And it looks great too.
Vapor4 comes with an aluminium exterior and the liner on the interior virtually insulates the antenna from the bumper metal to avoid interference. The creators claim to have tested the iPhone 4 bumper by wrapping it in an inch of anodized aluminium and the liner still managed to protect the iPhone from signal reception related issues.
While it is beautiful, protecting and all, it is not cheap. The Vapor4 aluminium bumper costs $80 – an additional $20 if you also want the V4Carbon carbon fiber back plate that will protect the iPhone 4 glass back.

Protective Screen Covers For iPhone No Longer For Sale?
Apple is contemplating a move to stop the sale of protective films and covers for the iPhone from the Apple Stores. The move, it is said, is to allay concerns that the iPhone screen is vulnerable and not rugged enough.
According to reports on the iLounge, “the ban will impact all forms of screen film, including completely clear film, anti-glare film, and mirrored film, regardless of whether the purpose of the film is protective, decorative, or both.”
To be fair, the latest generation of Apple devices do include an oil-resistant coating. However, Apple’s decision to ban the sale of all kinds of accessory coverings appears to be more of a marketing gimmick to sell the ruggedness of the iDevice than anything else.
I wonder what it would be like if Steve Jobs had dropped his iPad and got the screen cracked wide open while demoing it.
