White iPhone 4 Launching Shortly?

Has Apple finally managed to work out the kinks that it had been facing with the white iPhone 4? Last month we wrote about an obscure footer message on Apple Store posters that hinted at a possible spring launch for the white iPhone 4. It now looks like these speculations could turn out right.

A Vodafone Germany employee has now leaked a screenshot of a back-end inventory system that contains listings for the 16GB and 32GB variants of a weiß (white) iPhone 4. No more information is available. But considering that the Verizon iPhone 4 is soon on its way, we expect a CDMA iPhone variant to make its way into other parts of the world by spring – with high chances for Apple to launch both a CDMA and a white iPhone model at the same time.

What this means is that we might also expect Apple to bring the white iPhone 4 to its primary market in the United States earlier than that. Can we expect a February launch of the white iPhone in the US? We will have to wait and watch.

Price Of Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Tab In Germany Announced

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has now launched in Germany and according to a press statement released by Samsung, the device shall be available at a price of €799. That’s close to $1106 in US Dollar terms and will bring an unlocked SIM-free version of the powerful Android tablet that is seen by many as the best Android alternative to the iPad.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is supported over 3G as well as Wi-Fi connections. While the unlocked version should be a good bet for those looking to connect solely via Wi-Fi, there are better options to choose from if you are also looking to connect to a 3G network. As reported earlier this month, O2 Germany have announced their own monthly installment plans for the Galaxy Tab that will offer the new device to users at a monthly payment of €27.50 along with a two year contract. That accumulates to just €759 over a two year period which is definitely a better deal. But do remember that the monthly data plans are separately billed.

Samsung Galaxy Tab On O2 Germany – Pricing Explained

We have been hearing a lot about the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab in recent times. Most of that has however been about a lack in clarity regarding the actual price of the device. O2 Germany is one of the first companies to announce a comprehensive pricing scheme for the upcoming Tablet. Unlike most other contract plans, the O2 Germany plan distributes the cost of the tablet across a 24 month period so that the user will only pay a small amount every month.

This is how it works. Users buying a Galaxy Tab will have to pay an upfront fee of €99 to secure a device. This payment will also tie the user to a 24 month plan that will cost the user €27.50 every month. Interestingly though, this monthly fee does not offer any data plan in itself. Instead, this is merely for the possession of the device. The user will have to sign up for an additional data plan if they will also want to sign up for cellular data access.

The total cost at the end of 24 months turns out to be €759 ($1047). But at €27.50 a month, this is still a pretty affordable plan. And when you consider the economics of time value of money, you will concede that $1047 spread over 2 years is still lesser than a $500 price point that the user will need to pay upfront.
