Mobile Patent Lawsuits – Who’s Suing Who
Earlier this week, HTC filed a lawsuit seeking damages against Apple’s use of HTC proprietary technology in its iDevices. If you hadn’t noticed, this was merely a retaliatory suit following Apple’s lawsuit against the Taiwanese handset manufacturer.
Patent lawsuits are a common business ploy to either force companies into surrendering their innovation or gain a mileage out of the success of competitors by extracting a licensing fee. And we have had plenty of such cases in the past few months.
