The Netflix app for iPhone and iPod Touch is finally here. Weeks after the popular TV show and movie streaming service was made available for the iPad, Netflix has announced that their service is now also available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The newly released app is free to download and works over Wi-Fi and 3G networks. To watch the shows however, users will still have to be one of Netflix’s paid subscribers – subscriptions start at $8.99 a month. The app brings features such as the ability to manage a playlist of movies to play, quit and resume watching videos from where they left on a TV or computer besides offering the chance to watch videos unlimited number of times.
Netflix has been slow to adopt to the mobile platform but it is clear that the company sees this is as a definite area for growth in the near future. The company is also learned to be working on an Android app that is set to launch soon.
Netflix for iPhone can be downloaded from the App Store by clicking here.
