Long time Madden NFL fans would be aware of the ‘Madden Curse‘ – the jinx that hits any player who gets featured on the cover of the EA NFL game. Now recent reports suggest that Electronic Arts is developing a cinematic comedy based on this infamous Madden Curse. According to the website The Wrap, this project is being led by the vice president of EA entertainment, Pat O’Brien even though the site has not mentioned any named source from the company for the information. The film`s story will most probably follow a former Madden video game champion being forced out of retirement as he becomes the subject of a new game`s box art.
No studio or actors have been confirmed for the project as of now. A reality show which is dedicated to the franchise already broadcasts on ESPN2 which is a big hit amongst American fans and athletes. Although this concept might not be able to advance far enough, EA has also been planning for more films based on games such as Mass Effect, Army of Two, The Sims and Spore, etc. But it is worth noting that none of these projects have progressed beyond the planning stages till now.
Zynga has launched a mobile version of its popular Mafia Wars Atlantic City game. This is the social gaming company`s first ever application to be designed for the mobile web. Well, it just seems like Zynga has a lot to show to its potential investors rather than just sticking to the social games on Facebook. This game makes use of the HTML 5 format which means that it will be able to run on most smartphones.
One advantage that HTML 5 has is that it is not platform dependent like Adobe Flash and other native formats, which is apparently the reason why Zynga chose to build the game in it – Build once, and run on multiple platforms. Zynga makes a significant chunk of its revenues from Facebook and it is likely that the company feels it’s time for them put their hands in the mobile market.
You can play this new Mafia Wars game on your mobile by visiting m.mafiawars.com or download it from the GetJar application store.

According to new rumors, a new version of Uncharted game could well be in the development stages for the Play Station Portable (PSP) 2. The latest report comes from the Game Informer magazine who tell us that this game is rumoured for a release in 2011.
“The developers we talked to described the PSP2 as a very powerful machine. We’ve even heard that a new Uncharted spin-off – which could even stand in for a full-on Uncharted 3 – is in the works.”, Game Informer magazine.
The magazine further quotes that the possibility of Uncharted on PSP 2 “speaks to how powerful the graphics capabilities are for the handheld”. This is interesting considering that reports in the past few weeks had suggested that the PSP2 could just be half as powerful as the PS3. Of course while this would mean that the games shall also be of comparable lower graphical quality, we would nevertheless look forward to seeing the Uncharted on the PSP.
