The second quarter results are out and based on the results posted in Q1 and Q2 of 2009, here is the ranking of global handset makers in the order of the number of units shipped worldwide:

1. Nokia : 196.4 million
2. Samsung : 98.1 million
3. LG Electronics : 52.4 million
4. Motorola : 29.5 million
5. Sony Ericsson : 28.3 million
