US Mobile Phone Penetration Statistics

The American mobile phone penetration is inching towards the 80% mark which shall be attained in the next 4-5 years. Here is the number of mobile phone subscribers through the years and the corresponding penetration percentage inside brackets.

2008 : 228.2 million (75%)
2009 : 235 million (76.5%)
2010 : 242 million (78%)
2011 : 247.4 million (79%)
2012 : 251.5 million (79.5%)
2013 : 255.4 million (80%)
