Twitter Usage Across The World

Growth of Twitter in USA has apparently plateaued. However, usage continues to grow in other parts of the world. In November 2009, US contributed over 57% of Twitter users. Today it is just over 50%. Here are the top 20 countries on Twitter in terms of unique users during a two month period from October to December. The ranking is done based on the percent of unique users that come from each of these countries
1. USA : 50.88%
2. Brazil : 8.79%
3. UK : 7.20%
4. Canada : 4.35%
5. Germany : 2.49%
6. Indonesia : 2.41%
7. Australia : 2.39%
8. Netherlands : 1.32%
9. India : 1.27%
10. Japan : 1.22%
11. Mexico : 1.11%
12. Philippines : 1.08%
13. France : 0.98%
14. Spain : 0.78%
15. Singapore : 0.69%
16. Italy : 0.65%
17. Ireland : 0.52%
18. Chile : 0.51%
19. Sweden : 0.50%
20. New Zealand : 0.47%
