Average Number Of Tweets Per Day

There has been a lot of debate of late over whether or not Twitter has stopped growing. Many of such debates base their argument based on third party sources. Perhaps in a move to shut down the rumor mills, Twitter has now released an interesting stat on tweet updates. Here is how the number of tweets per day have increased over the past 3 years
2007 : 5000 tweets per day
2008 : 300,000 per day
2009 : 2.5 million per day (35 million per day by end of the year)
2010 : 50 million per day
