There was a 4% increase in online commerce in the holiday shopping season of 2009 compared to the sale numbers in the last months of 2008. But the top categories have shown a terrific growth in terms of dollar sales in the YoY comparison. Here are the top five eCommerce categories and their growth over the previous year

1. Jewelry and Watches : 20%
2. Consumer Electronics : 15%
3. Event Tickets : 8%
4. Computer Hardware : 7%
5. Books and Magazines : 6%
