Retention Rate of Mobile Apps By Category

Mobile apps seem to have a very little lifespan. In a study of over 1800 apps and 75 million customers based on category, none of the apps seemed to have a retention of more than 3 months. Here are the percent of apps that were retained 3 months after installation (based on category).

Music : 26%
Finance : 26%
Sports : 21%
Travel : 20%

Books : 12%
Lifestyle : 5%
