Today Japan is an undisputed leader in the 3G market with close to 50% more subscribers than United States and over three times the number of 3G subscribers in South Korea. However, USA is projected to overtake Japan by 2011 and India is projected to be the third biggest market for 3G. Here is the region-wise 3G subscriber market share projection for 2013:
