MySpace and Facebook have been the dominant destinations for advertisers looking for promote their products on American social networks. The spendings in 2007 have been thus:
MySpace : $510 million
Facebook : $145 million
Niche Social Networks : $75 million
Portal based Social Networks : $190 million
The total spending was close to $920 million
