eMarketer notes that the mobile phone penetration in Canada is close to 5 percentage points lesser than the penetration numbers in USA. That means, there are close to 25 million mobile users in Canada at this point. This number is however on the rise and is expected to get close to the 30 million mark in a few more years.

2008 : 21.6 million (65%)
2009 : 22.9 million (68.4%)
2010 : 24.5 million (72.6%)
2011 : 26.0 million (76.3%)
2012 : 27.3 million (79.5%)
2013 : 28.4 million (82%)
2014 : 29.5 million (84.7%)
