Most Popular Internet Properties By Total Time Spent

One interesting (or not so interesting) part of statistics is that the numbers differ vastly based on who is measuring it. Recently, I had written here about Facebook users spending 8 billion minutes per day on the website. That is approximately 4 billion hours per month.

That number was given by the social network company themselves. Now, a Comscore study puts the time spent on Facebook down by over more than a half. Here is a top ten list from Comscore of the top ten websites in September based on the total number of hours spent by users through the month. Surprise, Google is no longer number one!

1. Microsoft sites : 3.9 billion hours
2. Google sites : 2.5 billion
3. Yahoo sites : 1.7 billion
4. Facebook : 1.3 billion
5. Tencent Inc. : 893 million
6. AOL LLC : 513 million
7. eBay : 239 million
8. Fox Interactive : 204 million
9. Baidu : 163 million
10. Lycos sites : 107 million
