Despite the terrific growth rate in adoption of mobile phones, mobile internet has not exactly taken off in India so far. A research report by IAMAI reveals this fact in numbers. The numbers are for September 2009

Mobile Subscriber base : 471 million
Mobile phones that are capable of accessing internet : 127 million
Ever used mobile internet : 12 million
Active users of mobile internet : 2 million
