The portable and mobile gaming market has just seen the start of a boom. A study by DFC Intelligence sees a huge surge in the industry revenues as more and more people play games on their mobiles, most specifically the iPhone.

Market to reach $11.7 billion by 2014
The iPhones alone estimated to constitute 24% of the total gaming software sales
Userbase
54% of North Americans played games on their mobiles, and 45% of them had paid for a gaming software
69% of Europeans had similarly played games on their mobiles in the past year with 36% having made a gaming software purchase
