Global Mobile Data Traffic Growth Forecast

A recently released report from CISCO claims that the mobile data traffic will grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 40% between 2009 and 2014. The annual consumption of mobile data is expected to touch 40 exabytes (1 exabyte is 1 billion gigabytes) by 2014. Here are the projections for mobile internet traffic growth in this period
2009 : 0.09 EB/mo (exabytes per month)
2010 : 0.20 EB/mo
2011 : 0.60 EB/mo
2012 : 1.20 EB/mo
2013 : 2.20 EB/mo
2014 : 3.60 EB/mo
