The online ad market, with its Pay-Per-Click kind ad models has for a long time been the most popular choice for the small time advertiser. The luxury brands have stuck to the traditional forms of advertising for a long time. Now, probably feeling the economic pinch or more so because they have finally realized the potential of the internet, the online ad spending from luxury brands is seeing an increase.
In 2008, only 33% of luxury brands advertised online
In 2009, over 66% of luxury brands have taken the online route
Lacoste is moving all of its $12 million US advertising budget online
