Leading Publishers of Online Display Ads by Content Categories

Online display ads have low CTRs. Part of the blame goes to the fact that people are now blind to display banner ads. Another part of the blame goes to the fact that nearly one-fifths of these ads are displayed on social networks that have perennially been places where ad clicks just don’t happen. Here are the major content categories where display ads were shown most times
1. Social networks : 22%
2. Email : 9.5%
3. Entertainment : 9.2%
4. News/Info : 5.5%
5. Games : 4.2%
6. Community : 3.5%
7. Sports : 1.7%
8. Directories : 1.7%
9. Instant messengers : 1.4%
10. Retail : 1.4%
