The online population in Russia has taken off and expected to boom in the next few years. The numbers for 2007 and the projections till 2012 are given below:

2007 : 35 million
2008 : 40.3 million
2009 : 45.4 million
2010 : 50.4 million
2011 : 54.9 million
2012 : 59 million

By 2012, internet penetration is projected to reach 42.7% of the population
