How Many Cellphones Were Sold in 2007?

A mind boggling 1.5 billion cell phones! That is 16% more than the 2006 sale figures of 990.9 million. 330 million mobile phones were sold in the last quarter alone. The top five handset makers in this market and their market shares are
1. Nokia – 40%
2. Samsung (market share unavailable)
3. Motorola – 11.9%
4. Sony Ericsson – 9%
5. LG – 7.1%
