How does Free Online Radio Last.FM Work?

Last.FM from CBS is supported by advertising. The service has access to over 3.5 million songs from four major labels and open to other independent labels also.
The user may simply select the song and listen to it while the ad is on the screen. However, he may not listen to a particular song more than 3 times.
