The numbers may not be proportionate to the population, but the Indian users are very highly engaging:
The number of broadband subscribers : 6.8 million
The number of Active Internet users in 2009 : 54 million (login at least once a month)
Growth forecast in active internet users in 2010 : 34%
Facebook grew 156% in India in the past 12 months
Indians are among the top 10 on Twitter
