If you thought hospitals and social media were totally disjoint, think again. There has not been a huge foray into the social media (there is not too much of a use-case, anyway), but hospitals are slowly entering into the popular platform for today’s users. Here are some stats

367 hospitals in the USA are actively using the social media
There are close to 186 channels on YouTube launched by hospitals
Close to 5000 videos on Youtube were uploaded by hospitals
There are close to 267 twitter accounts created by hospitals
The number of tweets posted till now is close to 10,000
35 blogs are specifically run by hospitals
