Growth In Mobile Data By Application

Mobile data traffic has been growing strong thanks to increased use of ‘over the top’ applications like Youtube and Skype. For instance, Youtube contributes to 32% of all mobile streaming bandwidth and 10% of all mobile bandwidth, while Skype has contributed to 77% of all VoIP bandwidth.
Here is how the different applications have grown in the second half of 2009
HTTP streaming : 99%
HTTP download : 73%
HTTP browsing : 57%
VoIP and IM : 47%
P2P : 39%
