Effectiveness Of Spam Mails
Posted: January 7th, 2010.
Okay, this is not to advocate use of “spam marketing” but to see why spamming continues unabated even though most of us now are now tired of them.
A study conducted by Southern Medical Journal sees how spam mails on weight loss are actually popular among the target audience. This is not a very scientific study though, as it had a small sample size of just 200 students
Here are the results from the study
70% of respondents had reportedly received weight loss related spam
40% of those with weight problems had agreed to have opened these spam messages
18% of those with no weight issues have also reportedly opened such mails
18.5% of people with weight problems purchased the product
5% of people with no weight related problems ended up purchasing the product
