At the end of H1 2009, there were close to 184 million TLD (Top Level Domains). In the six months that have passed since then, another 3 million domain names have been added as a recent report by Pingdom suggests. Here are the total number of domain names split by TLDs at the end of 2009

.COM : 81.8 million
.NET : 12.3 million
.ORG : 7.8 million
CC : 76.3 million (includes all country codes like .CN, .IN, etc.)

Total number of domain names : 187 million (8% growth annually)
Total number of websites : 234 million (25% growth annually)
