Distribution of GSM Connections Worldwide

The world is inching towards reaching 4 billion GSM connections. A mammoth contribution to that comes from the emerging countries like India, China and the rest of Asia. Here are the distribution of GSM connections worldwide:
Asia Pacific : 1.9 billion (44.12%)
Western Europe : 574 million (13.35%)
Eastern Europe : 467 million (10.85%)
Latin America : 482 million (11.82%)
Africa : 415 million (9.64%)
North America : 299 million (6.95%)
Middle East : 167 million (3.89%)
