According to a new study by Bitkom, digital music downloads off the computer are estimated to have reached 51 million by the end of 2009. This is at an average price of 1.08 Euro per download. Here are the statistics from the study. The number of downloads is marked against the year and the corresponding turnover in Euro is provided inside parenthesis.

2006 : 25.9 million downloads (48 million Euros)
2007 : 34.4 million downloads (60 million Euros)
2008 : 40.3 million downloads (80 million Euros)
2009 : 51.4 million downloads (112 million Euros)
