Age Demographics of iPhone Users

iPhone users are older than you might think. More than half of the iPhone users are above the age of 35. Here is the percent-wise distribution of iPhone users by their age:
13-17 : 5%
18-24 : 13%
25-34 : 29%
35-54 : 36%
55 + : 17%

5% are 13-17 years old. This raises an interesting question. When I was 13-17 I didn’t have or want an iPhone. I wanted a Super Nintendo. Now that I’m approching that 35+ age bracket I have no interest in Nintendo (though I like my PS3) but I can’t wait to get either an iPhone4 or a Droid X.
So then what was the hot new electronic gadget that 35-year-olds were drooling over but I didn’t care about when I was a teen in the mid 1990′s?

Interesting perspective Richie. I guess people have learnt to persist with their child-pleasures like a Wii or PS3 now even when they have grown up. Back then, probably they were more into serious products by the time they cross 35 – Probably a full PC or Macintosh or one of those brick-like cell phones.
