RIM Tablet PC In The Works?
Is Research in Motion, the company behind Blackberry next in line to launch a tablet device? Folks at Crackberry seem to have received unconfirmed reports that suggest that the Waterloo based maker of smartphones has been sourcing a good number of 8.9 inch display tablet screens from Hon Hai a.k.a Foxconn who is one of the prominent suppliers to a majority of consumer electronics manufacturers including Apple.
According to these reports, RIM is working on a Q3 or Q4 launch will come with a 3.5G modem and Wi-Fi capabilities. As expected, the device will also allow users to sync their tablet with their Blackberry.
There is no word on the authenticity of this news. But keep close eye on the subject. Everyone and his mom is building their tablet PC.

Blackberry Twitter Client v1.0.0.37 Launch Delayed Till July
Blackberry focused blogs have been reporting a lot of interesting news on the upcoming Twitter client for the Blackberry platform. Folks at Crackberry seem to have got hold of a few screenshots of the new version 1.0.0.37 that is right now in private beta.
While the exact launch date of the Blackberry Twitter client is not yet known, speculations are rife that the launch is not going to happen anytime before June 30. The reason? The Terms and Conditions that private beta users agree to while signing up for the pilot test seems to suggest that. The T&C reads,
“Test Period: Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the Pilot Test shall expire on June 30, 2010.”
That would mean it is going to be quite some time before users will get to lay their hands on the new Twitter client.

Blackberry Desktop Manager Version 6.0 Leaked Screenshot
Polish Blackberry website, BBNews.pl has managed to dig out some screenshots of the upcoming desktop manager for Blackberry users. The new web interface appears pretty slick compared to the earlier version as while the overall features offered are more or less the same, there is one interesting inclusion in ‘Podcasts‘.

As you will notice, there are not many changes otherwise. It is not however clear how podcasts would be integrated to the Desktop manager and OS. Things should get clearer as we move ahead on this.

Blackberry Official Twitter Client Launch
Few weeks ago, Twitter launched their official Twitter client for Blackberry users in beta. Appears that the initial test run has been successful. Folks at Crackberry have written in that the official Twitter client for Blackberry will publicly launch on March 31 – that’s less than a week from now. Kevin from Crackberry writes,
“After the keynote this morning I rolled by the BlackBerry booth and stumbled upon the Twitter pod. After some smooth talking (just kidding, no smooth talking required), I was informed that the Official Twitter for BlackBerry client will be rolling out to the public on March 31st.”
I’m not a Blackberry user, but I am just curious that it took so long for Twitter to actually launch an official Twitter app for a platform that is so widely used. Isn’t it a massive opportunity lost? But then, considering that Twitter makes no money, it appears to be a “better late than never” kind of a thing.

Blackberry Slider To Run Exclusive On Sprint
We have heard rumors about the upcoming slider phone from RIM earlier. While earlier rumors were based solely on leaked images and the technology behind it, we are now hearing that the new Blackberry Slider with QWERTY keyboard could be launched exclusively on the Sprint network.
This comes after leaked pictures of the phone that sported the Sprint logo on it were released. Additionally, folks at BGR have confirmed from their sources that this upcoming Blackberry device could be numbered as 9900 and 9930.
What’s more, expect the launch to take some time. The sources have also reportedly claimed that the new slider handset failed 4 out of 5 times in initial diagnostic testing. So, it could be a while before all the issues are sorted out.
