The game console market has pretty much remained consolidated with just three major players. Now, there is a new entrant as we hear that Lenovo has formed a new company called Beijing Eedoo Technology that will build game consoles.

According to reports on the China Daily, Beijing Eedoo Technology president Jack Luo has indicated that his company is working on a new game console named eBox that will be based on a webcam technology that will enable users play games without the need for physical game controllers – Something like Microsoft Kinect?.

The Lenovo eBox is expected to launch first in China in November and possibly move global in the months ahead. Pricing of the device is not available as yet, though it is said that the unit could cost higher than Wii but will come with 30 free games to play.

Sounds great – just that the nomenclature and technology takes the sheen off the news and makes the new device sound like yet another Chinese KIRF

Lenovo is bringing its new Ideapad S10-3 Intel Atom netbook to the Australian market. The device is going to be sold at a price between AUD559 and AUD669 depending on the features you opt for and is expected to launch as early as the 7th of September this year.

The device is pretty reasonably priced. For AUD559 ($499 approx in USD), you get hold of a 10.1-inches display with a resolution package of 1024×600 pixels, a 1.5GHz dual core Intel Atom N550 processor along with a 1GB DDR3 memory and a 160GB hard drive. Additionally, you will also get to see a 1.3-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, flash card reader and support for 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. The device is expected to run on Windows 7 Starter edition.

The model launching in Australia is pretty similar to Lenovo’s IdeaPad that was launched elsewhere though the 1.5GHz processor is a new introduction. That could bring a good competitive edge for Lenovo against the rival product launches.

Remember the Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d – the notebook with a 15.6-inches High Definition display that comes equipped with a 8GB DDR3 RAM? Well, news is in that the notebook is out. The device is actually a month late as we had initially expected the new Lenovo Ideapad to launch by the end of last month. Another surprise is the price. The device was expected to go on sale at a starting price of $1199. But surprise, the notebook is now priced $200 higher.

If you do not remember the technical specifications, here is a short roundup. The notebook runs on an Intel Core processor and is ably supported by an ATI RADEON HD5730 graphics card. Other features on the device include a 1.3-Megapixel camera and support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LAN. Storage space starts at 250GB and extends all the way up to 750GB.

Here is a comprehensive specification sheet for the new notebook from Lenovo. Are you buying it?

The Lenovo Ideacentre B305 first made its appearance back in May this year. Finally, close to two months later, the all-in-one multitouch PC is finally shipping to customers. The device is not too comprehensive, but so is it relatively inexpensive compared to other Lenovo launches in the recent weeks like the A300.

First about the specs. The Lenovo Ideacentre B305 comes with a 1.5″ WXGA+ LED MultiTouch display with a rich 1920×1080 pixel resolution. The device runs on an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450 processor and runs on a 2GB RAM and 320GB hard drive. Also, this PC comes pre-installed with the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system.

And the price? The Lenovo Ideacentre starts at a price of $699 and comes with a one year warranty which I think should appeal to a good number of users. Of course, there are higher end models that come with a much higher RAM and storage that would cost you between $849 and $949. Now, is that appealing enough?

Lenovo Thinkpad X100e just visited the FCC. And this time, something was anew – an Intel 622ANXHMW card. The Intel card brings WiMAX support along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Apparently, what we have also come to know via the documents from FCC is that Lenovo has contracted Quanta Computer Inc. to manufacture these new netbooks.

So, if you are one of those who is excited about getting on to the WiMAX game, here is a device for you. But you may have to wait. There is no info as yet on when we may actually get to see these devices at the stores.

Lenovo will be launching a number of U series Ideapad laptops in June that will bring with them improved keyboards, light sensors and faster processors. Also, like the older crop of U series Ideapad laptops, the new models including U160 and U360 are less than an inch thick and do not weigh more than 3.8 pounds.

Here is an overview of the newly introduced features and technical specifications in the Lenovo U series Ideapad laptops

Processor : Core i3, i5 or i7 ULV processors
Display : 11.6-inch (U160), 13-inch (U360) ,14-inch (U460) and 15-inch (U560)
