HTC Aria – a new Android 2.1 based device running Sense UI may be coming to AT&T soon. According to sources PhoneDog spoke to, the new smartphone shall launch on June 7 – incidentally the day when the iPhone 4G is also expected to be unveiled, or better, sold.
Details about the device are sparse at the moment, and except for the platform, nothing else is known at the moment. Nevertheless, the timing is quite interesting. HTC EVO 4G is expected to launch on June 4 – just days before the iPhone 4G launches. Motorola Droid 2 is expected soon after – in July. With HTC Aria launching on June 7, is this going to be the famous “three pronged strategy” that Google Android is going to take to combat the iPhone menace? Looks silly to me – the timing of the launch, that is.
Matt Mastracci from DotSpots has announced that he has successfully rooted the yet-to-be-launched HTC EVO 4G. Blogging about his experience on his blog, Matt writes that the rooting was completed in just a few hours time by a three person team.
Details of the root are yet to be announced, though Matt has published a few pictures and video for the community.
A User Agent Profile (UAP) has been spotted referring to a new HTC handset named Vision. The device shall apparently be launched by T-Mobile though there is absolutely no clue as to whether this is the American arm or the British counterpart.
Nevertheless, this phone looks interesting. If the lack of a physical keyboard is what kept you away from the Desire, this one is made just for you. Await more announcements.
Virgin Mobile and T-Mobile UK have announced that HTC Wildfire will be launching on their networks in June this year. While the exact launch date and tariff on Virgin Mobile have not been announced as yet, the device shall be available on T-Mobile starting June 14th. Prices on the carrier range from free with £20 ($29) monthly payment for 2 years.

TmoNews is reporting about a new ‘Project Emerald‘ in the works at the company. There is absolutely no information on what this ‘project‘ is all about. However, sources have told the website that it could be about the launch of a new handset – a “new Nexus One like device”.
While these are still unsubstantiated rumors, this could possibly imply that HTC Desire could be in the process of launching on T-Mobile. However, that needs to be taken with a grain of salt at the moment. But then, the Desire’s one of the best devices in the market at present and deserves every bit of suspense and hype.
We have heard several rumors in the past over Sprint HTC EVO 4G launching in June this year at a price of $199. These rumors have apparently received a morale boost as Android Central has published information from additional sources authenticating the claim.
The website notes information revealed by a sales rep at The Shack that the device will be launched in the first week of June (around 6th), will be available on contract at $200 and without one at $600. There is also possibly no changes to your Sprint plan.
