The new smartphone from Acer – Iconica Smart which was previewed back in November has now been officially launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This new smartphone from Acer possesses an impressive 4/8″ touchscreen display and the device runs on Google’s Android 2.3 or Gingerbread. Acer has stated that the Iconica Smart would be available from the second quarter of this year, which should be 6 weeks from now.

To complement the wide display with a 1024×480 pixel resolution, is the Dolby Surround Sound Technology. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm 1GHz processor and the Acer user interface 4.0, codenamed Breeze. The phone also comes with Flash Player 10.1 which would also ensure a smooth browsing experience. Price Of Acer Aspire One Happy In UK Announced

Remember Acer Aspire One Happy – the rebranded version of Acer Aspire One D255 that comes with a 10.1″ display, a 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 processor, a 1GB RAM and a 160GB hard drive? Well, word is that this colorful series of mini-laptops is now making its way into the United Kingdom.

According to reports, the device is set to be priced at £250 which is something close to the $400 mark in the US. The Acer Aspire One Happy laptop is expected to come with a dual-boot operating system that would include Windows 7 as well as Google Android 2.1. The device that goes on sale in UK is also expected to offer up to 250GB of storage and up to 2GB of internal memory. That’s definitely a lot. The computer is expected to come in four different colored lids – pink, purple, lime green and light blue.

New Acer Laptop To Feature Two Screens

Toshiba announced their Libretto W100 not so long ago and now we have Acer developing a similar dual-screen laptop that has no physical keyboard. There is no word on the name, model number or specifications of this upcoming laptop. But from what the pictures reveal, the new Acer laptop will come with a touchscreen keyboard that will mimic a real physical keyboard. Apart from the fanciness that comes with such a device, I have no clue why such a device could actually be popular. Firstly, touchscreens are bad choices for media creation. Secondly, they are more expensive to manufacture than physical keyboards. Lastly, they are more prone to damage than physical keyboards. So, mark this as innovation for the sake of innovating.

At 15″, this device is no small thing. No word on the pricing or launch dates. Check out an image of the dual screen Acer laptop below.
